Check these points if... Part or all of your electric range does not operate � Is the range plug loose or disconnectedfrom the electrical outlet? � Are any housefuses blownor circuitbreakers tripped? � Has the power supply to thehome been interrupted? � Are the oven controls properly set? � Was the electronic control correctly set? � Was the door left in the locked positionfollowing a self-clean cycle? � Is the ovenset for automaticovencooking? � ON CANADIAN MODELS ONLY:Check to see if a fuse has blown(See page 20). Surface elements fail to turn on or heat the food properly. � Is the rangepluglooseordisconnect romthe electrif cal outlet? � If the range has coil elements, are they properly pluggedintothe receptacles? � Were appropriateutensilsused? (See Cookwareor CookingTips Sections) � Are the surfaceelementcontrolsproperlyset? � Is voltageto the housereduced? � CANADIANMODELS ONLY:The smoothtop cooktop will not operate during a self-clean operation.This is normal. Food not baking or cooking correctly � Are the oven racksproperlyplacedfor baking? � Have you used aluminum foil correctly? � Was the oven preheatedas recommended? � Are the controlsproperlyset? � Is there 1 to 2 inchesof spacebetween pansand the oven walls?Are the rangeand oven rackslevel? � Was good cookware/bakeware of the proper size used? � Was the oven vent covered or blocked on the range surface? � Are you using a tested recipe from a reliable source? Baking results differ from previous oven � Oven thermostat calibration may differ between old and new oven. The newer oven thermostat may be more accurate than the one on you previous oven. Follow a reliable recipeand review baking information on pages12 to 13. Ifyoustillfeetthe oventemperature is incorrect see page 20 for information on adjusting the oven thermostat. Food does not broil correctly � Was the controlset properlyfor broiling?(See page 14). � Was the properrack positionused? (See page 14). � Did youallowtime forthe broilelementto preheat? � Didyou usethe broilerpanthatcamewiththe range? � Wasaluminumfoil usedonthe broilerinsert,blocking the slitsforfat drainage? Oven light does not operate � Is the bulblooseor burnedout? � Is the lightswitchin the On position? Oven will not self-clean * Is the self-clean control set properly? (See pages 16-17). � Is the ovensetfor a delayedclean operation? o Is the oven door properly locked? � Was the oven heavilysoiled? Oven door will not unlock � Has the self-cleancyclebeen completed at least for one hour? � Was the doorcorrectlyunlocked? "F" plus a number appears in the display � This isa faultcode. If a faultcodeappears in the display and a continuous beep sounds, press the STOP/ CLEAR pad. See page 20 for additional information.
