Creating a Split Edit Using the Viewer Panel
For example, to create a split edit in video lead mode using the SX disk files, proceed as follows. If you use tape material as the source, you can select the tape margin. For details of the tape margin, see �Selecting the Tape Margin� on page 2-5.

Check that the video has been selected as the lead mode.

Click the desired file in the Files panel. The file is loaded into the Viewer panel. Cue up the desired In point of the video using the Viewer panel, and click [IN] in the Viewer panel, or press the MARK IN button on the Control Panel. Or press the I key on the keyboard. The In point timecode and the image of that point appears. Cue up the desired Out point of the video using the Viewer panel, and click [OUT] in the Viewer panel, or press the MARK OUT button on the Control Panel. Or press the O key on the keyboard. The Out point timecode and the image of that point appears. The duration box corresponds to the selected lead mode. In the following example, it shows the duration between the video In and Out points.
Duration box (video lead mode in this example) can be toggled to show split duration.
