Tuning Your Guitar
The ME-50 features a built-in chromatic auto-tuner that allows you to tune your guitar quickly and easily. Since the sound of your guitar is muted in tuner mode, you don�t even have to turn down your amp volume each time you tune. Here�s how to use the tuner. 1. 2. Press the OD/DS 1 and MOD 2 pedals simultaneously to switch to Tuner mode�the green tuner indicator lights. Play your high open E string. The display shows the name of the note closest to the pitch of the string you�ve played. If the dot in the lower right corner of the display flashes, the pitch is a sharp note. 3. 4. 5. 6. Do a rough tuning so that �E� appears in the display. Tune the string more precisely until the tuning meter�s center green indicator lights. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 to tune the other five strings. To leave Tuner mode, press the OD/DS 1 and MOD 2 pedals simultaneously, or press EDIT/EXIT.
Switching Between Manual and Memory Mode
The ME-50 features a Memory mode that lets you to store and recall up to 30 user patches, so you can quickly and easily load your favorite settings. The ME-50 also offers Manual mode, in which the current position of the ME-50�s knobs sets the sound of the ME-50. Use the following procedure to switch between Manual and Memory mmodes: 1. Press the MOD 2 and DELAY 3 pedals simultaneously to toggle between Manual and Memory Mode. � When you�re in Memory mode, the MEMORY indicator lights red. � When you�re in Manual mode, a dot appears in the lower right hand corner of the display. In Manual mode, Pedal 1 turns the OD/DS (Overdrive/Distortion) effect on and off, Pedal 2 turns the MOD effect on and off, and Pedal 3 turns the DELAY effect on and off.
Making Connections
Use the following procedure to connect your guitar to the ME-50 and to listen to the ME-50: 1. Connect an instrument cable from your guitar to the INPUT jack of the ME-50. 2. To hear the ME-50: � Use the ME-50�s stereo LINE/PHONES output if you want to hear it through headphones, a PA system, a hard disk or multi-track recorder�s inputs, or any other line-level device. � Use the ME-50�s L (MONO) GUITAR AMP jack if you�re connecting the ME-50 to a mono guitar amp. If you�re using a stereo guitar amp, connect the amp to the ME-50�s L (MONO) and R GUITAR AMP jacks.
