Save These Instructions Caution:
To reduce the risk of fire or injury to persons, read and follow these instructions.

Installation
1 Chose a spot near an electric outlet and a telephone jack outlet. 2 Install the handset antenna Slide the metal tip of the handset antenna straight down into the opening in the top of the handset. Turn the antenna clockwise to make sure the tip is set in place, and continue until it is sung against the top of the handset. Do not over tighten. 3 Install the handset battery � Remove the battery compartment cover on the handset by pressing on the identation and sliding the cover downward � Plug the battery pack cord into the handset, and tuck the cords in next to the battery � Replace the cover by sliding it on its track 4 Set Tone or Pusle dialing � Press Memory button � Press Recall button � Press for Tone, or for Pulse � French version do not have this function 5 Connect the telephone line cord � Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack on the top of the base � Plug the other end into a modular telephone jack 6 Mount the base on the wall (wall installation only) � Mark and drill two holes in a wall stud, 3 5/16" apart � Use two wall screws, leaving about 1/4" free of the wall � Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack on the top side of the base � Plug the other end into a modular telephone jack � Mount the base unit on the wall by aligning the two holes on the back with screws � Slide the base unit down in place 7 Plug the power cord � Plug the one end of the power cord into the jack on the top side of the base � Plug the AC adapter on the power cord into an electric outlet 8 Charge the handset battery pack for at least 12 hours Place the handset in the base, the CHARGE light on the base goes on to show the handset is in the right position to charge the battery pack. 9 Check for dial tone After the battery pack is charged, pick up the handset and extend the base antenna. Check for dial tone by pressing the , the IN USE light on the base should go on, and you should hear a dial tone. 10 Set TBR time The flash time is pre-set for end users, users do not switch it under normal usage. The TBR times switch is located on the top side of the base. Three flash time, A-100ms, B-270ms and C620ms are available for different telephone network system. Select suitable flash time if necessary.

Operating Range
The handset and base can communicate over only a certain distance - which can vary with the locations of the base and handset, the weather, and the construction of your home or office. For best performance, make sure the base antenna is fully upright. If the handset is moved to a point where the base and handset can longer communicate, you are �out of range�. When you try to make a call, the handset will beep to indicate that you are out of range. If you receive a call while you are out of range, the handset might not ring - or if it does ring, the call might not connect when you press . Move closer to the base, then press to answer the call. If you move out of range during a phone conversation, you may be disconnected. Changing Channels This cordless telephone has multi channels available for maximum performance. If you notice noise or interference while using the handset: 1. Press . 2. If the interference doesn�t clear, continue to press until you find a clear channel. - OR Move closer to the base and press .
NOTE: You must be in range to change channels.

Installation:
1. Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm. 2. Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jack is specifically designed for wet locations. 3. Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface. 4. Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.

Memory This cordless phone can store 10 telephone numbers that you can dial by pressing and one of the number buttons. Additionally, you can store a memory number in the memory location. Storing Memory Numbers 1. Make sure the handset is off. 2. Press . 3. Enter the phone number (up to 20 digits). 4. Press . 5. Press any number button from 0 to 9 for the memory location where the number is to be stored. - OR - Press to store the number in memory location M1.
For example, to store 555-1234 in memory location 3, . NOTE: You may choose to store emergency numbers in memory locations.This feature is provided only as a convenience and the manufacturer assumes no responsibility for reliance upon the memory feature.

Storing a Pause in a Memory Number 1. When storing a number in memory (see above), press 2. Press once inserts a two-second pause.

Charging the Handset Battery Pack The batteries need charging when: � The IN USE light on the base flashes. � The handset beeps while you are on a call. Place the handset in the base so the CHARGING light goes on.The batteries will be fully charged in about 12 hours. You should charge the handset battery pack at least once every 90 days. Replacing the Handset Battery Pack 1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the handset by pressing on the indentation and sliding the cover downward. 2. Plug the battery pack cord into the handset, and tuck the cords in next to the battery. 3. Replace the cover by sliding it on its track.

Making a Call 1. Press on the handset. 2. When you hear a dial tone, dial the number. Answering a Call If the handset is in the base, lift the handset. The IN USE light on the base goes on. If the handset is away from the base, press . The IN USE light on the base goes on. Ending a Call To end a call, place the handset in the base or press .

In Case of Difficulty
If the phone doesn�t work at all, check these items first: � Make sure the AC adapter is plugged in. � Make sure the telephone line cord is plugged firmly into the base until and the telephone jack. � Make sure the base antenna is fully upright. � Make sure the battery pack is installed correctly. � If you have rotary service on your phone line, make sure the dial mode switch is set to PULSE. � You may be out of range when attempting to dial. Move closer to the base and try the call again. � If the above suggestions don�t solve the problem, the handset and base may not be communicating properly. Try the suggestions below to reset the security code. To reset the security code: � Place the handset in the base, and check to make sure the CHARGING light is on. Wait 15 seconds, then . The phone should operate properly. If it doesn�t, try the next step. pick up the handset and press � Place the handset in the base, and check to make sure the CHARGING light is on. Unplug the AC adapter from the outlet, wait 15 seconds, then plug it in again.The CHARGING light should go on.Wait another 15 seconds, then pick up the handset and press . The phone should operate properly. if it doesn�t try the next step. � Pick up the handset, open the battery compartment, and unplug the battery pack. Wait 15 seconds, then reinstall the battery pack, close the battery compartment, place the handset in the base, and check to make sure the CHARGING light is on. Wait another 15 seconds, then pick up the handset and press . The phone should operate properly. If you have no dial tone: Check all the previous suggestions. If you still don�t hear a dial tone, disconnect the phone and try another phone in the same jack. If there is no dial tone on that phone either, the problem is probably in your wiring or local service. Call your local telephone company. If you hear noise or interference when using the phone: � Make sure the base antenna is fully upright. � You may be out of range. Move closer to the base. � Press and release to change to another of the multi channels available. If the noise is exceptionally loud, move closer to the base before changing channels. � Household appliances plugged into the same circuit as the base can sometimes cause interference. Try moving the appliance or the base to another outlet. � The layout of your home or office might the limiting the operating range. Try moving the base to another location, preferably on an upper floor. If the phone does not ring when you receive a call: � Make sure the handset RINGER switch is set to ON. � Make sure the telephone line cord is connected firmly to the base and the modular telephone pack. Make sure the AC adapter is plugged into an outlet not controlled by a wall switch. � You might be too far from the base. Move closer to the base. � You might have too many extension phones on your telephone line to allow all of them to ring. Try unplugging some of the other phones. � Press to change to antoher channel. If you hear other calls while using your phone: � Press to charge to another channel. � Disconnect the base from the modular telephone jack and plug in a corded telephone. If you still hear other calls, the problem is probably in your wiring or local service. Call your local telephone service company. If you hear noise in the handset and the buttons don�t work: You base unit and handset might not be set to the same security code. Place the handset in the base for at least 15 seconds to reset the security code.

Handset Volume Control Each time you press the handset listening volume changes. Ringer On/Off - Battery Save Feature Set the handset RINGER switch to OFF to prevent the handset from ringing.You can still use the handset to make a call or to answer a call if you hear an extension phone ringing. When the handset RINGER switch is set to ON, the handset stays ready to use for up to 7 days.

Recall Press to activate custom-calling services such as Call Waiting or 3-Way Calling.You may have to press other buttons before or after as explained in custom-calling instructions provided by your local telephone company. Temporary Tone

If you have dial pulse (rotary) service, this feature allows you to enter codes or tones needed to operate answering machines, or use electronic banking services, calling cards, and other special services.
