To connect to a TV with the SCART connector
You can enjoy using the unit by simply connecting it to your television set with a 21-pin SCART cable. To hear audio sound with better quality, connect the audio output to your audio equipment.

Set the COMP-Y/C switch correctly according to your TV. � If the TV only accommodates the composite video signal, set the switch to �COMP .� � If the TV accommodates the Y/C signals, set the switch to �Y/C� so that you can enjoy better-quality pictures. � If the TV accommodates the RGB signals, set the switch to �COMP� as well as make the unit feed the RGB signals by , following the procedure shown below.
How to make the unit feed the RGB signals
The unit cannot output the RGB signals from the SCART connector and the S-video (Y/C) signals from the S-VIDEO jack simultaneously. In the initial (factory-preset) condition, the S-VIDEO jack is active, while the RGB signals cannot be output. To make the unit feed the RGB signals, follow the procedure below. Note that the S-VIDEO jack does not feed correct signals when the unit is set to output the RGB signals.
% When the unit is turned on Set the COMP.-YC switch to �COMP� .
Press and hold down the
% (STOP) button on the front panel when no disc is inserted or while the unit is stopped.
�S-VIDEO� appears in the display window after a few seconds.

Keep holding down the
% (STOP) button on the front panel.
After a few more seconds, �RGB� replaces �S-VIDEO� in the display window. Now the RGB signal can be output when setting the COMP-Y/C switch to �COMP .�

To make the S-VIDEO jack active, use the similar procedure.
NOTE
� � Do not connect the unit to an NTSC television. Connect it to a PAL television. When the unit is set to feed the RGB signals, the S-VIDEO jack does not feed correct signals.
