The Infrared - IR Blaster cables supplied enable you to make timed program recordings between the GUIDE Plus+ system and accessory VCRs/Cable Converter boxes. The IR Blasters work as small sized remote transmitters to turn on and select channels on the VCR and Cable convertor box in order to accomplish a timed VCR Plus+ recording. See GUIDE Plus+, p. 34.
Insert the connector end of the supplied Y-shape IR Shooter cable into the GUIDE Plus+ IR SHOOTER output jack on the rear of the TV (where you removed the Demo Pin). Position the control (transmitter) ends of the IR blaster under the front edge of the accessory VCR or Cable Converter. Two transmitting blasters are provided for those who have both a VCR and an accessory Cable Converter box. Be sure that the transmitting end of the IR blaster is facing up, ready to transmit into the front of the remote sensor window on the VCR or Cable Converter box. The IR Blaster should be positioned out as far from the front of the VCR or Cable Box as possible.
