Radio broadcasts have different frequency ranges and change in different steps in different countries. This unit has three world reception areas: �L15H (North and South America) �,� JPH (Japan)�, and� EU (other areas)�.
2 Press RADIO ON/BAND repeatedly to select AM, FM1 or FM2. FM1 and FM2 have the same frequency range. Both can be used to tune in to an FM station. 3 Press TUNING UP or DOWN to tune in to a station. After listening, press s RADIO OFF. For quick tuning Keep TUNING UP or DOWN pressed for f -2 seconds. When a station is tuned in to, the frequency indicator stops automatically. However, it may not stop if the broadcast signal is weak. For better reception -+ FM: The headphone cord functions as the FM antenna. Keep it extended. AM: Turn the unit to find the position which gives the best reception.

Use Type I (normal) tape for recording. You can record on both sides of the cassette continuously from the front side to the reverse side.

To record on both sidas continuously, insert the cassette with the side to be recorded first facing the cassette holder. To record on onfy one aide, inserfthe cassette with the recording side facing inside of the unit. Then, press s RADIO OFF to display R, 3 To record from the radio+@ Tune into a station. To record from the microphone+@ Connect the supplied microphone to the MIC jack and orient it to the sound source. You can preset up to 10 stations under each preset number (1-1O)on each band (AM, FM1 and FM2). 1 Tune in to a station. 2 Keep MODE/SET pressed for about 1 sacond until �PRESET��flashes in the dispfay. 3 Press PRESET -k or - repeatedly to select the preset number while �PRESET� is flashing. 4 Press MODE/SET while �PRESET� is ffashing. To preset more stations, repeat the procedure from the beginning.

If a high-pitched sound is heard while recording from the microphone Move the headphones and the microphone farther apart, or reduce the volume. To change the recording side while listening to the radio Keep s RADIO OFF pressed for more than 2 seconds. Note q Adjusting the volume and the DSL do not affect the recorded sound. Use Type I (normal) tape for recording. If you use Type IV (metal) or q Type 11(High/CrOz) tapes, sound that has been already recorded may not be erased completely. You cannot record on side whose erasure prevention tab is broken off. If q you start recording side A on a cassette whose tab for side B has been broken off, recording will stop at the end of side A.

Deleting preset stations
1 Select the preset number you wieh to delete. 2 Whila prassing MODEA3ET, keep TUNING DOWN pressed within 1 second until the preset number goas out. To delete more preset stations, repeat the procedure from the beginning.

To clean the head and the tape path After every 10 hours of use, clean the head and the tape path with a commercially available head cleaning cassette. For details, refer to the operating instructions of the head cleaning cassette. After cleaning the head and the tape path, wait until cleaned parts dry bafore inserting tapes. To clean the cabinet Use a sofl cloth lightlymoistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use strong solvents such as alcohol, benzine or thinner.
