MS1228 Crown Molding Support Stop

The Crown Molding Support Stop assists in holding crown molding at the proper angle during cutting operations when the crown molding is angled against the fence. Two crown stop supports are included, one for each side of the saw. Whenever possible, both should be used. MOUNTING THE SUPPORT STOP ON THE SAW 1. Slide the base extension out at least half way. Figure 1. 2. Replace the knob on the back of the fence with one of the longer knobs included with the MS1228. Figure 2. 3. Slide the rear of the clamp under and behind the fence on the side of the table, as shown in figure 2. 4. Lower the front of the clamp so that the clamp�s mounting pin drops into the mounting hole. Figure 2. 5. Tighten, but do not overtighten, the thumbscrew to tighten the rear-locking pad against the back of the miter saw, thus locking the horizontal clamp into position. Figure 3. ADJUSTING THE CROWN MOLDING SUPPORT STOP To operate the crown molding support stop, simply loosen the locking knob, adjust to the size of stock to be cut, and tighten the lock knob. Figure 4. POSITIONING AND CUTTING THE CROWN MOLDING Position the crown molding with the wall edge (bottom edge) up against the fence and the ceiling edge down against the table and support stop. Figure 4.
