Before use
Before using the memory module, please read this manual thoroughly and retain it for future reference. See the manuals provided with your Sony notebook for the information about adding the memory. The Sony VGP-MM512I is the memory module for a Sony notebook. However, it may not be used with some models.
Precautions
On handling
Electrostatic discharge can damage electronic components. Before touching a memory expansion board, ensure the following: � Handle the memory module carefully. � When installing or removing the memory module, be careful not to hurt yourself on the memory module or the components that you have removed from the notebook. � Touch a grounded metal object to discharge yourself of static electricity. � Avoid working in a carpeted area. � Open the package containing the memory module immidiately before you use it. The package protects the memory module from electrostatic discharge.
On keeping
Use the special bag for preventing electrostatic discharge or use aluminum foil when you store the memory module. Do not place the memory module in a location subject to: � Heat sources, such as radiators or air ducts � Direct sunlight � Excessive dust � Moisture or rain � Mechanical vibration or shock � Strong magnets or speakers that are not magnetically shielded � High humidity
