Thank you for purchasing Infinity Reference 4622cfd speakers. You�ve selected a premium product that offers superior performance and advanced materials, resulting from over 25 years of loudspeaker design. Before reading further, please verify that the package includes a pair of Reference 4622cfd speakers, mounting hardware, and a warranty card. IMPORTANT: Installation of automotive stereo components can require extensive experience in dealing with a variety of mechanical and electrical procedures. Although these instructions explain how to install Reference 4622cfd speakers in a general sense, they do not show the exact installation methods for your particular vehicle. If you do not feel you have the experience, do not attempt the installation yourself, but instead ask your Authorized Infinity Car Audio Dealer about professional installation options.
INSTRUCTIONS
INSTALLATION
1. Use the supplied template (on the back) to create each cutout. Tape or trace a template at each site and mark the locations of the mounting holes and circumference of baffle openings. NOTE: Reference 4622cfd speakers have built-in universal DIN mounting brackets to accommodate a variety of custom-fit installations. Mounting holes can be located anywhere within the bracket openings (see template). 2. Use a hole punch to make drilling guides. Clear away any carpet or other material prior to drilling. 3. Use a 1 �8" bit to drill a pilot hole at the center of each proposed baffle opening. Then drill four holes for mounting screws. Use a saber or hole saw to create a cutout for each baffle opening. 4. Slip a supplied metal mounting clip over each screw mounting hole. Route the speaker wires from the source unit (or amplifier) through each cutout. 5. Observing the color codes, attach the wires to the keyed terminals on each speaker. 6. Position each speaker in its cutout, aligning the mounting holes to match the drilled holes. Push the wires into the opening and carefully fasten each speaker to its site with the supplied screws. 7. Reconnect the (�) negative battery lead and turn on the audio system.
PRECAUTIONS
� Turn off all audio systems and other electrical devices before you start. Disconnect the (�) negative lead from your vehicle�s battery. � Keep speakers in their package until final installation. When moving a speaker, always rest it with the cone or dome facing up. Never use force to install any speaker. � At the installation sites, locate and make a note of all fuel lines, hydraulic brake lines, and electrical wiring. Use extreme caution when cutting or drilling in and around these areas. � Check clearances on both sides of a planned mounting surface before drilling any holes or installing any screws. Remember that the screws can extend up to an inch behind the surface. � Before drilling or cutting holes, use a utility knife to remove unwanted fabric or vinyl, to keep material from snagging in a drill bit or saw. � Always wear protective eyewear when using power or conventional tools.
